The Wildflowers and Orchids of the Countryside - Part 1 (Talk)

Award winning photographer Roger Hance was the Club’s June speaker. His topic was The Wildflowers and Orchids of the Countryside (Part 1). Using his fantastic photographs, many of  them close-ups, members and  visitors were able to see the  beauty and intricacy of  wildflowers and orchids found in the fields, hedgerows, woodlands, riverside, roadside verges as well as our gardens.

His wealth of knowledge was shared with each photo as we learned about the habitat, the plants’ place in the ecosystem,  how many of the colloquial names came about and which insects depend on the plant.
